Population in 2016 is 124.496 people. Consist of 61.904 males and 62.592
females. In percentage, males is 49,72% and females is 50.28 % of total
population. A published book or data of Regency or City in figure
usually used the previous year of the date of book or data published.

The
population density in Samosir Regency is 86,20 people/square kilometer.
Data of the population density obtained from the total population
compared to the Samosir Regency total area 1.444,25 square kilometer. See Samosir Regency

population will increase a population density. The people displacement
also will influence the population density. The more people come and
stay, register the civilian status to the Civil Office of the regency
will be counted as new population. Otherwise, the opposite, the people

influence the density of the population. The more people come and stay

regency. Otherwise, the more people moving to other area will decrease
the density of a regency.

households in Samosir Regency in 2016 is 30.007. The total households
counted from the number of civilian who have been married and register
the marital status to the Civil Office of the regency. Indonesia law
suggested that the head of a household is the man in the house. Each
household should have a registered Family Card (Kartu Keluarga). The
family card contain information of the people in the household. The head
of the family, spouse and children birth of day, last education, and
the information of the parent of the family member. The total household
indicated the rate of marriage in an area.

Regency Average of Household in 2016 is 4,15 people per household. The
average of household obtained from the total population compared to the
total households. The more people in a house will increase the number of
the total population and then increase the number of the average of
households. The average of households number indicated the rate of
newborns or the addition in a household. Sometime, other family
relationship as cousins of nephews can be registered to a family card.
The case happened if a people or some people moving to an area and
living in his family house and registered as the household member.
The
population data of a regency will inform the dynamic of the population
in the regency. Civilian office of a regency is responsible for
obtaining and analyze the dynamic of the regency. Some tools are using
to obtain the population information. They are, Birth Certificate,
Identification Card, Marital Certificate, Family Card, and a Death
Letter which explain a status of a death of a person. A death letter
usually issued by a hospital and registered at the village office.
