Samosir Regency: Employment in 2016


Samosir Regency in Figure 2017 (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS Kabupaten Samosir 2017) used the 2015 National Labor Survey (SAKERNAS) on August 2015 for the data of Samosir Regency Employment in 2017. The available labor force of Samosir Regency in 2015, basend on the survey is 70.272 people. It is 88,38 percents of the total population who have been reaching 15 years old and above. The Indonesian Law suggested that the labor force should have age of 15 years old and above. For the states institution, the maximum age is 58-60 years old. The total of labor force in 2015 who are working are 69.373 people. Unemployment in the same year are 899 people. 


Meanwhile, population which not in labor force age range is 9.237 people. 3.391 people of them are attending schools. 2.135 population working as housekeeping in their own house. 3.711 people are doing other activity. Unlabor force population is described as population who have not reach age 15 years old. For the states institution, the maximum age for working is 58 or 60 years old for certain jobs. Private institution usually have not determine specific maximum age for working. 

The employments data or the dynamic of labor forces in a regency usually held by the local Labor Affair Office. One of the Labor Affairs Office  duty is to obtain the data of Labor Force and Unlabor Force.  Some tools are used by the office to obtain the data of the labor dynamic. They are Yellow Card (Kartu Kuning) which explain that someone is unemployed and is in looking for a job status. A  labor health insurance and a labor social insurance. The such data is obtained from the people who is working or the worker organization.




The Labor Affairs Office also obtain the labor force dynamic from the institution that have a or some people who is working in the institution. The institution can be a states institution or a private company. A company have duty to provide the workers rights for the people who working for the company. The company also have duty to report the worker dynamic in the company to the Labor Affairs Office. The company data in a regency usually held by the Labor Affair Office too.

The Labor Affairs Office usually have program to train or provide some skills for the population in the regency. It is the responsibility of the Labor Affairs Office to provide certain skills to the citizen in their regency. The skills provided based on the analyze of the development program plan of the regency. Information about any training which will be held by the Labor Affairs Office sometime can be found at the local Labor Affairs Office. Some Labor Affairs Office of a regency sometimes cooperate with the National Labor Affairs Office to provide certain skill for the unemployed population. Some Works Training Office (Balai Latihan Kerja) which managed by the National Labor Affairs Office have been available in some provinces.
