Bali Province Population in 2022

The population of Indonesia is defined all people who live in Indonesia's territory, including Indonesian citizen and foreign citizen who have lived for one year or more or plan to stay in Indonesia territory for at least one year. Bali is one province in Indonesia which most visiting by foreigners. The current online work trends in the world make Bali as a destination for digital nomads who plan to stay in Bali for 6 months or more. 





Bali Province in Figure 2022 stated that total population of Bali Province in 2020 was 4.317.400 population and in 2021 was 4.362.700 population. The number indicated that annual population growth of Bali Province in 2020 to 2021 was 1,40% or 45.300 population increase from the previous year. The number of population for districts in 2021 were, Jembrana 321,900 population, Tabanan 465.300 population, Badung 549.300 population, Gianyar 519.500 population, Klungkung 210.100 population, Bangli 262.500 population, Karangasem 500.800 population, Buleleng 806.600 population and Denpasar City 726.600 population.

The most populated district in 2021 was Buleleng District with 806.600 population and the least populated was Klungkung district with 210.100 population. Meanwhile, Denpasar City, the capital of Bali Province population in 2021 was 726.600 make the city as the second most populated district or city in Bali Island. The total area of a district compared to the total population of a district will determine the density of a district or city.

The population density per square kilometer of the total areas of Bali Province in 2020 was 747 population per square kilometer, increased to 755 population per square kilometer in 2021. The highest population density per square kilometer in both 2020 and 2021 was Denpasar City, 5.676 population per square kilometer in 2020 and 5.686 population per square kilometer in 2021. The least population density was Jembrana district, 377 population in 2020 and 382 population in 2021.

The percentage of total population in Bali Province based on the district population were Jembrana District 7,34% in 2020 and 7,38% in 2021, Tabanan District 10,69% in 2020 and 10,67% in 2021, Badung 12,70% in 2020 and 12,59% in 2021, Gianyar 11,94% in 2020 and 11,91% in 2021, Klungkung 4,79% in 2020 and 4,82% in 2021, Bangli 5,99% in 2020 and 6,02% in 2021, Karangasem 11,41% in 2020 and 11,48% in 2021, Buleleng 18,34% in 2020 and 18,49 in 2021 and Denpasar City 16,80% in 2020 and 16,65% in 2021.

The number of total population percentage based on districts in Bali Province indicated that some districts had lower percentage and other districts have increased total population percentage. Tabanan district, Badung, Gianyar, and Denpasar City showed decreased total population in 2021 compare to 2020. Meanwhile, Jembrana district, Klungkung, Bangli, Karangasem and Buleleng showed increased total population in 2021 compared to 2020.
