Map

Map or Chart created to show a location, position, situation or condition that the map creator intended to show in the Map or the Chart. Using Map or Chart someone will know the position and then determine the orientation. Map or Chart can be a diagram, a sketch or a digital.

Mapping is a process to make a map. In order to make the map, we need to determine the purpose of the map, what information we will show, how the information will be showed and the order of the map to show the main purpose of map. Just like the treasure hunting game, sometime a map is a clue to the other map. Some maps has series of maps that connected each other. It differs the scale and the detail of information included. For an instance, the above sample of simple map is a part of the Indonesia map which has bigger scale, the sample map show the position of Medan City in North Sumatra Province, the Medan City Map will show more detail information about Medan City, and other map will show more detail part of Medan City. The theme of the map will be depends on the information that the creator wants to show.

As the math theory that a line consists of many dots. The principle applied in mapping too. A complete map consists of dots or points, lines and areas. The dots, lines and areas arranged accordingly, to build the information in the map. The sample map built only using some areas that arranged based on the position of the city or regency in North Province. It purposed only to show the orientation of the Medan city position that highlighted with red, in North Sumatra province.
